3 Tapes I Played a Ton During May

Larry keep coming with the fire. Their last drop 3200 was more heat added to the flame. Their sound just keeps getting better and better. Its like they still feel like old Larry from “Splash!” but the production is like times 10. My favorite songs from the tape are: “30”, “La Flare Freestyle”, and “Doing The Most”.

Lil Larri teams up with Lil Citgo for a ridiculous 3 track EP. Lots of fun hooks from Citgo and all the classic Larri delivery I love so much. Ya Ya hey! Dope project. Its cool to see Larri reaching back to bring another artist up into the spot light shouts out to both of those guys!!!

I know I’m crazy late to this tape but never the less I played it a ton last month. I feel like considering how late I am there is not a ton that I can really say about this project that most do not already know but for those of you that don’t know I’ll say this. The tape is full of amazing melodies, descriptions of an artist struggle to make onto the stage that he aspires to be and some really dope features from guys like Coolismac, Rich the Kid and more. Highly recommend listening if you haven’t already. My favorite tracks from the tape are “Progress”, “Potential” and “Choze”

3 Tapes I PLayed a Ton During April

Ok first we got Lil Tape

This tape comes from a member of the Iconic collective out of at Atlanta, “Two-9”, “Retro Jace” or just “Jace” is what he’s been going by lately. I definitely respected his lyrical ability based off of works that I would listen to from “Two-9”. I felt like bro always brought the really creative flow patterns and had really good word play. But this was the first time I really sat and got to analyze him as a artist alone and I was really impressed at how strong musically he stood alone. He really put together a great project that I could hit play on and listen to from start to finish.

My 3 favorite tracks from the tape are: “Dirty”, “Lick Read”, and “Rush”.

Next up we got this guy Young Skrrt

I had this producer I know tell me about this guy then I saw him doing a show at Artlanta the very next week. I thought bro had a really fun sound that was easy to get with. I was following him every since then. I caught him at a couple more shows, saw him out at a few places, even interviewed him. I hope to be getting that video to you guys soon, he’s a really dope individual who I believe has really solid vision for what he wants to do with his music. I feel like he’s definitely going to pop off in the city even harder than he is already. This project was very dope! Lots of great beats, lots of that Esco sauce I fuck with, and its like the sound is similar to a lot of the shit I like to listen to when it comes to things like subject matter and even a general sound, but even with that said its very unique to Terrence his self. Its like the perfect amount of originality and common ground. I’m not completely sure how describe it. Listen to this tape and you will feel what I’m saying. #UDIGG

My 3 favorite tracks from the tape are: “Amatuer Hour”, “Rollin W/ Rxlvnd”, and “Uber Delorean”. “W/ My Young” gets that honorable mentioned. The whole tape fire really!!!

Last but extremely far from least we got Lil Uzi

I really be feeling like I can’t even post bro on this blog because of how much he exploded over the past months!! I feel like its disrespectful at this point to call him underground but I saw him for the first time at a small show in “Department Store” and became a huge fan of his through this scene out here. I also caught that “Left Right” Tour with Carti, shit was insane. So even though he as exploded way off into a somewhat more mainstream scene I still consider hi to be a subject I can touch on with this blog. But not on to Uzi vs The World. HOLY SHIT the tape was fire!!! Lived up to and surpassed the hype he had built up to that point. It is a really fun tape to listen to. Its like the Uzi we had got to know times 1000!!

My 3 favorite tracks from the tape are: “Hi Roller”, “Grab the Wheel”, and “P’s and Q’s”

I love this fucking city and the dope ass music that is coming out of it. Its beautiful!!!

3 Tapes I Played a Ton During March

This is the most recent project release from a heavy weight on the scene. I fuck with Father the long way and he really came back strong with this one. I feel like the tape still sounds like that classic Dad that we all fell in love with but it brings in some fresh lyrics, fun flows, and lots of those weird ass Awful sounds. The tape is crazy entertaining.

My 3 favorite songs off of the tape are: “Why Don’t U”, “Lanes”, and “Fuck Up the Sheraton”. There were more tracks on the tape that was on soundcloud but I guess he decided that it was defintiely worth paying for so he took them down and made it available only on soundcloud. Dope business play if I do say so myself. The tape is still dope though regardless.

I got put onto this guy from my homie DJ King Eron from the GSU radio station. I was checking out the group he is in Lousy Human Bastards. He told me to check his tape out, I did and I started playing it like a couple times a day. Bro’s lyrics, delivery, and his production are top notch. I think it definitely some of the best music getting made by a collective that may not necessarily be widely recognized.

My 3 favorite tracks from the tape are: “Maniac”, “Poole Palace”, and “Gorillaz”.

I kept seeing this guy performing on the scene almost where ever I went. Then I started seeing him around campus and hearing his music on my homie’s radio show! Prety much I had to check him out and I hate that it took me so long to do so. Bro has a really unique and fun sound. Its kinda classic but new age at the same time. He also has really dope visuals and take a really boss ass approach when doing shows. He’s really an interesting character.

3 of my favorite tracks from the tape are: “Carl Johnson”, “Anime”, and “Fissure”

3 Tapes I Played a Ton During Febuary

I caught Uno at a show at Artlanta and I have been a fan ever since. It was one of the best shows I’ve seen so far. There were more songs on it when I was playing it in January though. I hope this isn’t a permanent change. It always sucks when you go onto Soundcloud and find that an artist has removed some of your favorite tracks. My 3 favorite tracks off of the tape were “Been Had It”, “Swoop”, and “Whole Thang”.

I been rocking with these dudes music pretty hard for a minute now. They’re crazy consistent with coming with new heat. I’ve seen Larry rock out 3 shows so far and the shows get bigger and bigger everytime. I really feel like I can see these dudes blowing up! I’m really excited to see what they have coming next. But for now my 3 favorite songs from the project are “Snob”, “Fall Back”, and “Gloria”.

At this point I feel like there isn’t much I need to say about Vert!! His success really speaks for itself. Bro is really taking off! I think its really deserved! He at this point is my favorite person to see in concert!! I love his energy and I love what he has been putting out lately!! Huge fan of Uzi! My 3 favorite tracks off this tape are “Super Saiyan”, “Top”, and “All My Chains”

3 Tapes I Played a Ton During January

Martin Luther Key I played the hell out of this tape!

00-cover

A few of my favorite tracks from the project are “Say no mo”, “Ghost”, and “Just Wanna”. I have been a fan of Key! since my freshman year of college (which was 2 years ago). I feel like he has been able to consistently crank out projects and tracks that have a fun energy, dope melodies, and great production. Definitely excited to see what 2016 is gonna bring for Fat Man!!

I saw these guys perform a lot of these tracks before I heard the tape at a Department Store show last December. They put on a great show. I think that made me fuck with those tracks that much more. A few of my favorite tracks from the tape are “Haters”, “GPS”, and “1 on 1”. I’m really fuckin with The Private Club right now. They’re out here making noise! I highly recommend checking these dudes out!!

My homie HVRPCK put me onto Pollari a year ago or so. He told me to go play this song called “Funds”, I did, and I have been rocking with Larri ever since. This is his latest project and I think that its dope as fuck! He gave me exactly what I was hoping to get from him. I think he definitely started out the year strong like Schwarzenegger. He has a show coming up later this month I’m amped up about! You guys be sure to stay up on what this guy Pollari is up to this year.

Make sure you keep an eye on this wave thats coming!!!
